  • Song that has been in my head

Love at Our Throats by As Cities Burn

right now is the time for the tired and forgotten
    tired and forgotten
to turn in our legs, crippled from
    our own way and strength
and let us strap compassion to our chests
and run as if we never knew how until now

    we will wear compassion
we will wear it on our chests
and sing with love at our throats
    like a child, it's all i know

Father, hide our hearts in you
    lest we steal them back
and lay them at the feet of men
i know now that glory has not a place
near my hands or any man

K, I just got the Jon Foreman EPs, and they are amazing. This is a song that has been stuck in my head and I just wanted to post the lyrics. Mostly for my benefit, because it will remind me of it, but i hope if any one reads them they will be blessed by this song as i have.

    Equally Skilled by Jon Foreman

    How miserable I am
I feel like a fruitpicker who arrived here
    after the harvest
    There's nothing here at all
There's nothin at all here that could placate my hunger

The godly people are all gone
There's not one honest soul left alive here on this planet
    We're all murders and theives
Setting traps here for even our brothers

    And both of our hands
    Are equally skilled
    At doing evil
    Equally skilled
    At bribing the judges
    Equally skilled
    At perverting justice
    Both of our hands
    Both of our hands

    The day of justice comes
And is even now swiftly arriving
    Don't trust anyone at all
Not your best friend or even your wife

For the son hates the father
The daughter despises even the mother
    Look! Your enemies are right
Right in the room of your very household

And both of their hands are equally skilled
    Equally skilled

    Are equally skilled
    At doing evil
    Equally skilled
    At bribing the judges
    Equally skilled
    At perverting justice
    Both of their hands
    Both of their hands

    No, don't gloat over me
For though I fall, though I fall
    I will rise again

Though I sit here in darkness
    The Lord, the Lord alone
    He will be my light

I will be patient as the Lord
    Punishes me for the wrongs
    I've done against him

After that he'll take my case
Bringing me to light and to justice
    For all I have suffered

And both of his hand are equally skilled
    At ruining evil
    Equally skilled
    At judging the judges
    Equally skilled
    Administring justice
    Both of his hands
Both of his hands are equally skilled
    At showing them mercy
    Equally skilled
    At loving the lovers
    Equally skilled
    Administring justice
    Both of his hands
    Both of his hands

    I suck at blogging

I want to write stuff all the time but never do. Lots has been going on here in FL. I bought a new car (mazda3 hatchback 2007) Im looking at houses this weekend. Life is super exciting. I quit playing video games. Have not played one in 4 weeks. I might play some when Halo 3 comes out, but im not really excited about it. Last saturday i went longboarding down gandy bridge in tampa. super fun. im more intrested in hanging out, gettig to know people and being in true community with people. as soon as I move to tampa im going to be taking some ceremic classes in ybor. amazing.

well im in a choppy mood. i just wrote a choppy email to a friend I havent talked to in a while and now i just wrote a choppy xanga post that i havent updated in a long time.

well thats it for now. I had too much coffee over at my friend James Mindrups house at dinner tonight. it might be a while before i can sleep.

Good night neverland. "lost boy, Hook(the movie)"
